Old School Skaters

I don't know when I started to fall in love with this silly wooden toy. But, I remember watching Michale J Fox skating in the Back to the Future movie and some teenage kids skating at the nearby playground when I was really small. I started skating in late 1995 or maybe in 1996?.

In 2001, I can't skate because of arthritis. Now in 2009, I started skating again...after 8 bloody years! Hehehhe...Fcuk back then, there's no such thing as skatepark, it's DIY skatepark or street skating all the way. For the first time ever I skated at a "proper" skatepark in Putrajaya. Well, it's just for fun...nothing to accomplish except for self joy...

Tribute to A//Mince Infoshop

Wah, Cikgu Fazri ada mengepost gambar-gambar di A//Mince (2000-2004). Pada yang tak tahu, tempat ni merupakan markas aktiviti hc/punk underground di Terengganu pada masa tu. Gila rindu aku kat tempat tu walaupun aku jarang lepak kental kat situ macam budak-budak lain sebab aku masa tu transport susah, motor takde, kereta sebuah jer kongsi satu keluarga, naik bas tunggu bas sejam berpeluh j*bo t*ik baru sampai. Tapi banyak sungguh kenangan di situ...oh gambar aku masa zaman comot pun ade 3 bijik (cuba carik)...

Kat situ la band Rai Ko Ris main, dan beberapa orang punk traveller dari jauh ada datang lepak jugak mcam dumpy dan 2 org bike punx (katja n partner lupa name)...oh, yang dekat pun ramai datang. Macam-macam aktiviti yang dibuat tapi banyak gig lah...

Kat situ lah ramai kenal kawan. Sekarang dah tak lepak sama dah. Semua sibuk kerja, jaga anak isteri, cari makan, jadi cikgu, jadi tukang masak, buat tattoo kat badan dan lain-lain...Kalau sekarang masih ada studio ni, sapalah agaknya yang lepak situ???

lo-fi!!

Heh...dulu mase aku study kat TATI. Masa aku baru masuk TATI ramai student kenal aku sebab diorang ade tengok aku main ngn Jellybelly kat Kerteh beberapa bulan sebelum tu. Masa aku baru nak baik ngn Tajoe (Dully Dog). Dia ada datang bilik aku borak-borak. Masa tu dia baru je tahu yang aku ni ada main band. Pastu dia cakap "Mu ni low-profile lah!". Heh.

Tadi kawan aku baca blog Isham . Pastu aku tanya dia selalu ke baca blog ni. Aku pun tunjukla entri yang Isham tulis pasal Dum Dum Tak cool.

Padahal sebelum ni dia memang tahu aku main band. Tapi buat tak heran jer. Tapi bila baca apa yang Isham tulis, terus di search pasal band Dum Dum Tak kat google dan youtube dan kecoh2 cakap kat orang lain. Pastu dia cakap, "Kau ni low-profile lah!" Heh.

Aku rasa mereka2 ni expect, kalau seseorang tu main band ni kene bagitahu satu dunia yang dia main band, kene dressing maut2, segak2, ramai geng/awek...

hari hardcore

Mcm biase kalau aku pergi kerja naik keter, aku mesti sambar sekeping dua CD dari koleksi aku untuk dengar on the way ke tempat kerja. Pagi tadi aku sambar CD Secret 7.

Semalam aku naik motor, kena hujan. Kasut basah. So, aku pikir2...ah pakai je la kasut Vans Old Skool harini gi ke opis.

Sambil layan Secret 7, sambil pakai kasut rasmi hardcore, aku terpikir. Wah, aku hardcore! ahha.

Akai ada ka?

Haritu masa kitorang duk spread flyers gig '3 chords and the truth' dekat area cineleisure, sorang mamat tanye, "Korang ajak Carburetor Dung main, berape diorang mintak payment?"...

Pastu satu malam aku lepak ngn sorang mamat (main band punk rock dah lame, pernah direview dalam Blasting Concept), die tanye aku pernah main tak dengan band Carburetor Dung. Aku cakap pernah. Dia tanye benda yang same, "diorang punye payment mintak berape?"

Kat 2-2 orang mamat ni aku jawap...C. Dung dapat/mintak payment sama je mcm band-band lain yang baru main/form 2-3 tahun mahupun 2-3 bulan. Takde beza. Kecuali kalau diorang main jauh la, so of course need extra for transportation expenses, etc.

Just aku nak kongsi kat sini, apa yang aku tahulah.

Aku heran bila ada band yang main grindcore, release bawah label HC/punk bila diajak main dalam negara mintak RM1k minimum. Kalau takde RM1k memang takkan main.

Aku jugak heran dengan band-band yang mintak jugak untuk dibayar minima RM50-RM100 walhal tahu organizer rugi beratus-ribu ringgit kadang-kadang. Walhal venue gig dengan tempat tinggal mereka hanya setengah jam perjalanan. Pelik.

Memang main muzik perlukan duit, nak tampung balik kos jamming, transportation, etc. Tapi considerlah sikit. Sedangkan grindcore pun tercetus dari muzik punk, tapi attitude mengalahkan rockstar. Baik buat band baru main indie main kat gig-gig disponsor syarikat telekomunikasi atau rangkaian media Media Prima tamak haloba tu.
